A. The ENIRDEM Mission: what sort of network are we?
The original 'manifesto' formulated at the original conference in Sanner, Norway and ratified by the delegates. Why we set ourselves up - bringing European RDEM professionals together research and practice.
E + C + W = 1Europe - The rapid achievement of parity and pro-activity.
A no-fee network owned by its members: university researchers, system administrators, practitioners (institutional developers, leaders and teachers) and the new breed of independent consultants
A rotating Board (3 male; 3 female from 6 countries) and an alternating pattern of participative Conferences
B. What have we achieved/not achieved?
Achievements
A network that has helped to unite formerly separate communities of professionals across Europe
A series of annual Conferences alternating between West and East venues that have caught the waves of change affecting our professional interests
Opportunities for many to form new relationships both professional and personal through the creation of a ‘dear ENIRDEM Friends’ culture
An impressive list of eight edited publications highlighting key themes and papers. Originally driven by Fons van Wieringen and Ray Bolam representing a major channel for members’ scholarship, research and accounts of development
examples of collaborative research (e.g. the New Headteachers Project)
examples of other forms of collaborative work ENIRDEM inspired or supported (e.g. in Poland, Hungary, Sweden, Finland)
